Vin Seaman

Vin Seaman is an interdisciplinary artist, drag queen (performing as LOL McFiercen), and the director of Diamond Wave the queer-nonbinary arts organization. Their work, which explores queer identity and drag culture, has been featured at an impressive array of venues and festivals including The Stud, Brava, Oasis, El Rio, CounterPulse, the de Young, Salesforce Tower, Frameline, the Tank NYC, the Austin International Drag Festival, SATELLITE ART SHOW in Miami, the National Queer Arts Festival, Stockholm’s Stolt Scenkonst, the Atlantic Center for the Arts, and Yale School of the Arts.
Vin’s artistic expression pushes the boundaries of performance, creating dynamic and inclusive spaces within queer culture. Their autobiographical comedy is just as sweet and silly as they are.
Jota Mercury

Jota (pronounced HO-TAH) Mercury is an award-winning Latinx and Indigenous drag performer, MC, and self-proclaimed "professional ham," known for putting the "cheese in machismo." Jota has performed at a wide array of shows, including ¿Dónde Está Mi Comedy?, The Ruckus Revival, Oaklash, Rebel Kings of Oakland, and SF Sketchfest. Their work challenges traditional notions of masculinity while celebrating queer identity, often blending humor and cultural commentary. Jota's performances have spanned from Las Vegas to Panama City, showcasing their dynamic presence in both drag and burlesque. With accolades from competitions such as California Burlypicks 2019, where they earned titles like Master of Comedy and Lip Sync, Jota’s talents continue to leave a lasting impact on stages across the world
Kristee Ono

A little dark, a little weird, and a lot of burritos. Kristee Ono is a San Francisco-based stand-up comedian whose comedy navigates depression and food obsession, all with an unwarranted optimism that's kept audiences entertained (and no one’s asked her to stop yet). She is the host and co-creator of KALW Into The Fold, where she delves into the world of burritos and the people who love them. Kristee also co-hosts the Mental Health Comedy Hour (@mhcomedyhour), a show where comedians use humor to destigmatize mental illness. She has performed at SF Sketchfest, Emerald City Comic Con, Gen Con, and Silicon Valley Comic Con, sharing her unique, burrito-fueled comedic voice with audiences far and wide.
Binya Kóatz

Binya Kóatz, fresh off of kicking ass hosting for Safe Words’ Trans Lineup last month, our prodigal daughter returns as host this motnh.
Binya is a trans Jewish comedian, but don’t hold it against her. Originally from Queens, NY (where all the best queens are from), she’s currently straddling the Bay Area and Montréal comedy scenes, performing in gay bars, straight bars, and any bisexual bar her agent can find. Her comedy has been described as sweet and crude. Something for the whole polycule to enjoy.
Edsel Mac

Edsel Mac hails from Northern California, Sonoma County born and raised, where he still lives and works; juggling the life of a full time Elementary School teacher, while moonlighting as a stand up comedian. Edsel got his start at the Brainwash (SF), The Purple Onion and open mics all over the greater SF Bay Area. Edsel has performed at SF Punchline, Sally Tomatoes (Rohnert Park), in The Sacramento Comedy Festival, The Central Valley Comedy Competition (Fresno), as well as The Cinderblock Comedy Festival in Brooklyn, NY. Edsel cohosted The Hank Hardister Show, a local radio show in Napa,CA, for a few years, which can also be found in Apple Podcasts, as well as Swiped TV Show. Edsel Mac’s weaves stories of being an educator in today’s crazy world, along with tales from his uncanny family upbringing, all from his own, unique and hysterical queer-perspective.

Wonder Dave is a multifaceted comedian, writer, and performer who has toured extensively, gracing stages across comedy clubs, cabarets, comic conventions, and even bowling alleys. Originally from Minneapolis, Wonder Dave now resides in California, where he has become a fixture in the Bay Area comedy scene.
Wonder Dave is the creator and regular host of the Safe Words Queer Comedy Showcase, were we are on a mission to create a safe spaces for queer audiences while supporting and promoting LGBTQ+ comedians. In addition, Wonder Dave co-hosts the Mental Health Comedy Hour, a show that destigmatizes mental illness through humor, offering both entertainment and a platform for serious conversations
Wonder Dave has performed at major events like SF Sketchfest and is involved in projects like SMILF: Straight Men I’d Like to Friend, a comedy game show that celebrates queer culture while challenging societal norms. A passionate advocate for inclusivity, Wonder Dave’s work often blends comedy, community, and activism, making him a notable voice in both the comedy and LGBTQ+ communities.

It means you can set your own price, and we won't turn anyone away for lack of funds. While we segguest a price of $15 - $25 we've had people pay anything from $1 to $100 (looking forward to breaking that record!) Proceeds are used exclusively to pay comics and promote the show.

Yes! If you show up without an eventbrite ticket we can accept payment in cash or via venmo, and there is an ATM at the door. That said, getting tickets in advance REALLY helpful and appreciated. Ultimately, we want you to do whatever allows you to show up, bring friends, and laugh with us! :-)

Our goal is to make a space for queer comedy by queer comedians, but every so often we'll book one of a variety of Token Straight Women ™️️ - turns out, being a woman in comedy is similar to being queer in comedy.

COVID continues to be a pain in everyone's ass - especially those in our community who remain vulnerable to the diseise. Masks and vaccinations with current boosters are heavilly encouraged. Masks will be provided at the door if you do not have some already

While the weather is cold, the show takes place on the SF Eagle indoor stage - but a live color video and audio feed is broadcast across the bar and onto the large outdoor patio. In future months when warmer wather can be counted on, we intend to move the show outside.
